"No one is youer than you!" -Dr. Seuss

Antonella, our “soul friend” from Italy, has been here at Pine Manor since Dec 31^st.  Antonella attended a Qigong retreat taught by Steve Bradley almost two years ago.  She was on a sabbatical leave from her teaching position at a music conservatory in Italy where she lives and teaches flute.   Since that time she has come to California two more times to give concerts, workshops on the Direction of One’s Soul, and personal readings based on the same theme.

Antonella’s concert on January 8^th was a musical expression of the Journey of the Soul on Earth, what it means to embody Spirit.   These were the seven stages of that journey that Antonella interpreted through her lovely energy and music:

1.  Before.
2.  Entering the dimension of the child
3.  Using body and mind to build a life on earth..
4.  Inhabiting the deep meaning of being on earth.
5.  Accepting the satisfactions and troubles of being human.
6.  Looking back on the experiences of your life with joy and magic.
7.  Returning home-sharing your journey on earth with soul friends.                                                  

The concert gave me new perspective on the transitions of three friends in the past three months. It allowed me to view each of their lives through the lens of "the journey of their soul," and the soul's return home. It was an invitation to pause and wonder what each has to share about their journey on earth. It is fun to imagine.

I think of Paul, who died at 92 years of age, leaving his sweetheart Honey here.  I see Paul laughing and moving with the freedom and spunk he had a young man and the wisdom he had as an elder who inhabited his life with love and appreciation.

I imagine Candi, who died at age 54 after an ongoing battle with physically disabling illness, sharing the depth of her soul's journey with others who understamd deep journeys. Sharing how she managed to live life to the fullest regardless of limitations.  I imagine the amazement of swimming in a freedom that her body hadn't known for a long time and being held in the fullness of God's presence.

And I am touched by Tori, who died in November at age 49 after a battle with cancer. I can see Tori dancing and full of joy, sharing her adventure on earth that was both painful and joyous.  I didn’t hear about her death last November, but I heard directly from her when I sent her an invitation to a SoulCollage gathering.  This was her response (on auto responder on her email):
